Wessex Morris Men will be 70 years young in 2027 and will be celebrating this milestone with a weekend of Morris fun in the beautiful historic market town of Sherborne in Dorset. They’d love you to join them.
The weekend will be based at the Boys’ school in the centre of Sherborne and they're aiming to keep all activities in or near the town. Beds are included along with all meals from Friday evening through to Sunday lunch. Beer and drinks are included with the feast on Saturday evening. You will have full use of the communal areas at the school for relaxation, music and song sessions as well as the choice of 8 pubs in the town. Being in the centre of the town, parking in the school grounds is limited and is not suitable for caravans or camper vans/mobile homes. Sherborne does have a main line railway station which is a short walk from the school.
The cost for the full weekend is likely to be around £150 and they’re expecting an upper limit of around 100 attendees.
Expressions of interest (with potential numbers) are welcomed from sides to the e-mail below. Knowing the difficulties in raising a travelling side these days they will also welcome interest from ‘oddfellows’ who would be prepared to share their talents with others over the week-end.
Although Wessex Morris Men are an all-male side they welcome all sides to come and share their common interest in comfortable accommodation in a wonderful setting. They look forward to seeing some old friends who have shared exploits with them over the years.
