Westminster are excited to announce that they will be hosting a jigs instructional this year. Whether you're a seasoned dancer with lots of jigs under your belt or someone that would like to add their first ,there will be something for everyone. We would like to invite all interested dancers - and musicians - to come and learn the jigs with us.
You do not need to be an expert in dancing jigs, or the traditions included, but it would be helpful if you are confident in at least one
Cotswold tradition.
Suggested jigs are:
Princess Royal, Adderbury
Shepherds Hey, Bucknell
Old Mother Oxford, Headington
Highland Mary, Oddington
and possibly None so Pretty, Field Town, if we need more.
Cost: £15 to include a light lunch and some drinks (tea, coffee, soft
drinks, possibly a beer)
Venue: St John’s Church Hall, 18 Hyde Park Crescent, W2 2QD from 12 noon until 4:00pm.
The hall is to the left of the church entrance, through the gate (which has a sign for the Montessori school), which we leave unlocked while we are there. We also hang a yellow sign saying Westminster Morris on the gate while we are there.
