- Do you dance Jigs?
- Would you LIKE to dance Jigs?
- Would you like to dance Jigs even better?
- Maybe jigs aren't your thing, but you'd like to improve your (already magnificent) technique and help others in your side?
- Are you a NEW or RETURNING Cotswold Morris dancer keen to improve your understanding, skills and confidence?
YES? We've got just the thing for you!
The Morris Ring Jigs Instructional is led by Geoff Jerram and offers dancers at ALL levels of competence a full weekend of high-quality dance coaching – even if you don't aspire to be a solo performer.
Using the solo dance as a vehicle for instruction, this event will give you a good basic grounding in the art and science of the Cotswold Morris Jig, plus opportunities for detailed instruction in a variety of specific traditions (Bampton, Bledington, Fieldtown, and Sherborne) plus selected jigs in other styles.
There are parallel streams: one for the relative novice and the other for the experienced dancer, plus sessions for BEGINNERS covering the basics of the Cotswold dance.
It all takes place in Sutton Bonington, just off the A6 between Derby and Loughborough. At a cost of only £47 per man, the Jigs Instructional is great value for money and offers
- COSY indoor camping (including showers)
- REALLY GOOD food from Friday supper to Sunday lunch
- DELECTABLE beer for the Feast
- EXPERT and PATIENT instruction
- the MOST CONVIVIAL company
- and a PUB that's never heard of closing time.
SPECIAL OFFER to Morris Ring member clubs: first time delegates receive a £10 discount; second timers get £5 off! The Morris Ring Treasurer will send reimburse your club after the event if you qualify.
