Some Morris weekends are fun, some are picturesque, but some are simply amazing.
I always thought a Ring Meeting in London would be special, but this weekend Ravensbourne MM put together a great venue, tours along the South Bank and show dance arena at the Tower of London. Well done lads, brilliant!
Many highlights but seeing old friends Leeds MM dancing was a pleasure, finally getting to see Plymouth Morris dancing with cutlasses, and of course processing with Saddleworth Morris across Tower Bridge, will all stay with me for a long time.
The real highlight at the Massed show was seeing Taylor's Men dance into membership of the Morris Ring, performing an 8 minute, 9 man Longborough version of Swaggering Boney. Highly skilled dancing and musicianship, such as I have hardly ever seen equalled. To achieve that in just 18 months since the side started is astonishing.
