We are very happy to publish as requested, this letter of appreciation from the family of the late, great Stephen Adamson 1955 -2013.
Steve's sudden passing has been a great shock to his family and friends alike
Steve's family wish to express our immense gratitude to all fellow members of the Morris Ring, for the friendship, loyalty and honour so aptly displayed by so many in attendance at Steve's celebration of his life, Friday 13th December 2013.
This day was transformed from a sad and mournful occasion to a day of great reflection and pride for his family, and has been a great comfort to us at this sad time and made our loss easier to bear.
The Morris Ring was such a large part of Steve's life, in fact for many years it was his life, and we know that he will be greatly missed by all his friends and also friends within the Open Morris and The Morris Federation.
Many thanks to Charlie Corcoran, Bob Cross and Bob Carter for their tributes to a colourful character, Great Yorkshire Morris pall bearers, all the musicians and Peter Halfpenny for helping to make the day so memorable.
Special thanks extended to Charlie Corcoran, for his great support and for making the day such a fitting tribute to Steve, his close friend and devoted servant to the Morris Ring. Thanks to Bob and Paul Cross for their great friendship to Steve, their support and the unenviable job of collecting and relocating the Morris Shop.
Thanks to you all for the many kind words, letters and cards of condolence, and the extremely generous donations in memory of Steve, made to Motor Neurone Disease Association. Steve being the past Treasurer, it seems appropriate to end on a financial note, we are pleased and proud to state that an amazing total sum of £1,400 has been donated to MND association.
Wishing you all the best for the New Year
