Michael Blanford, a past member and good friend of so many Ring sides both here and overseas, died in Medway Maritime hospital on May 7th. His funeral will be held at the Medway Crematorium, Robin Hood Lane, Chatham, Kent on Thursday May 30th at 1pm.
You will appreciate that due to his wide circle of friends within the Morris community and beyond the arrangements are a complex undertaking. Michael had been a member of many sides and associated with many more and Hilary’s letter below explains how things are planned to provide him with the send-off that he deserves.
There will be a Morris procession, managed by Cambridge, and the order will be in Michael’s membership order. Members of Cambridge/Travelling Morrice, London Pride, East Suffolk, Ancient Men, Hartley and Wadard will have received information and instructions directly from their Bagmen. Representatives from other sides will be welcome but Hilary needs to know in advance if you will be attending.
