Big Jigs were presented with their own Squire's staff by Nigel Strudwick (Squire of the Morris Ring) on Saturday 3rd June, thereby confirming their full membership of the Morris Ring, following an overwhelming vote in favour by its members to admit them in March 2022.
Big Jigs chose a Lumps of Plum Pudding double jig in the styles of both Bledington and Fieldtown traditions to dance in, performing in front of a large audience in Thaxted town centre as part the big morris weekend held in the town each year at the start of June.
The Morris Ring as a whole salute and welcome Big Jigs as full members, and also thank Thaxted Morris Men for hosting another splendid weekend.
