DESCRIPTION:The Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside\, Mr Robert Owen JP DL\,
  is opening proceedings as part of the ceremony at 10.00 in St
  John's Gardens (next to the iconic St George's Hall) to greet
  350 visiting dancers and musicians from across the country\,
  all belonging to member sides of the Morris Ring\, the Morris
  Federation and Open Morris (the Joint Morris Organisations).
  Southport Swords will welcome Mr Owen and the Squire of the
  Morris Ring\, Simon Newman\,with a dance\, and Saddleworth
  Morris Men will perform to start the dance tours rolling.\n\n
  Venues for the displays include Mathew Street (of Cavern Club
  fame)\, the World Museum\, the Sailors' Home gates and Lime
  Street Station Piazza\, to name but a few.\n\n
  The street collection supports the Lord Mayor of Liverpool's
  Annual Charity Appeal.\n\n
  The event concludes at 16.00 following show dances in St John's
  Gardens from Thelwall Morris Men\, Southport Swords and
  Earlsdon Morris Men. Strong support has also been provided for
  the day by Kinnerton Morris Men and Chester City Morris Men\n\n

  10.00 St John's Gardens (spot 17) - official opening ceremony
  and performance from Saddleworth Morris Men\n\n
  10.30 - dancing begins\, sides have 30 mins allocated to each
  spot\n\n
  15.45 - reassemble at St John's Gardens for informal farewell
  gathering. Performances from Thelwall Morris Men\, Southport
  Swords and Earlsdon Morris Men.\n\n
  16.15 - day ends\, sides disperse\n\n
