Dance Meeting
5th April to 7th April 2013
The Adelaide Morris Men are pleased to invite morris teams and individual dancers to our Dance Meeting on the weekend after Easter 2013.
The Meeting will provide visiting teams and individuals with an opportunity to stay in an Australian bush setting and to experience some of the sights of Adelaide, its finest breweries as well as its nearby wineries and country side, while giving plenty of opportunity to dance throughout the weekend.
ITINERARY
Friday evening 5 April 2013
From 5pm there will be the Meet and Greet at the Daniel O’Connor Hotel at 165 Tynte St. North Adelaide. Here is a map if you are making your own way to the meeting place . Otherwise transport will be arranged. If you get there early, sit back and enjoy the beer and ambiance.
Afterwards, transport to the accommodation at The Rymill Centre will be arranged – and beer.

Saturday 6 April 2013
After breakfast, about 8am we will embark on a tour of the Adelaide Hills wineries and pubs, returning to the Rymill Centre for the Feast. Post Feast we shall have the opportunity to sing, dance, and play to our heart’s content. There are no neighbours and no closing time! All meals and beer will be provided

For those who wish we have made arrangements to attend the Church Service at 9:15 am at the Blackwood Uniting Church, which means another 8am start. Following which there will be a tour by bus of Adelaide sights and pubs – with plenty of dancing before returning to the Rymill Centre for a well-earned rest (or more dancing, singing and playing). The Uniting Church in Australia is the result of the Presbyterian, the Congregationalists and the Methodists merging in 1977 and has many theological similarities with the Church of England.
For the Ring Meeting (Saturday to Monday morning) we are providing transport and food. We will also provide beer at the accommodation but not on tour.
Billets and a program of activities will be available for any family traveling with you.

The rest of the day is yours. For the evening meal we have booked an Indian Restaurant for anyone interested. This will commence at 6pm and be open to family and friends as well as dancers. Tuesday 9 April 2013

We head towards Melbourne stopping at Halls Gap in the Grampian Mountain Range. Accommodation will cost $90 per person for the two nights. Food will be on top of that.

Travel to Ballarat and dance in a local attraction. Then on to Melbourne for another Meet and Great. This will be a chance to meet other Australian sides and see a different aspect of Morris in Australia.

PRE MEETING POST MEETING
Some people are arriving earlier than the Friday Meet and Greet. If you want it we have billeted accommodation available for Dancers and their families. This can continue post meeting until we go to Melbourne on the Wednesday. No cost but the accommodation will depend on what is available with the numbers.
PARTNERS / CHILDREN PROGRAMME
While we are at the ring meeting there will be an alternative program available for partners. We are offering billeting (beds, lounges and floors) and for the period of the Ring meeting for any partners who want will have a chance to be tourists with our partners and friends. There will be a separate program available for family and partners. If they want to follow the dancers for the tours that can be arranged also.
BEDDING
One question that is causing grief is whether to bring bedding or not. Ideally bring your own sleeping bag. It will be bulky in the luggage but you will be independent. If this is difficult we will be able to arrange some over here. In the Grampians it won’t be needed. In the billets it won’t be needed but Melbourne is an unknown and the ring accommodation needs to have it provided. I know this is no real answer but I will do what I can to expand on this in the next few days.

The Adelaide Morris Men will be attending the National Folk Festival held in Canberra held over the Easter weekend. We are happy to arrange for dancing for other teams and individuals over the weekend should anyone wish to attend the folk festival. We can arrange billeted accommodation for those that get to Adelaide before the Dance Meeting.
