East Suffolk Meeting

The meeting is based in the Thomas Mills High School in the small Suffolk Market Town of Framlingham. During this weekend meeting the Ring Squire Elect, Eddie Worral, will take office from Adam Garland, the current Ring Squire and member of East Suffolk Morris Men. 

The school is one mile from the town centre, with its impressive thirteenth century castle, and parish church of St Michael the Archangel, which contains important Howard family tombs. The town pubs and hotels serve ales from East Anglian breweries, local ciders, and wines from Suffolk vineyards. The Saturday tours will visit country pubs, and towns on the Suffolk Heritage Coast.

Friday 2nd Sept there will be much singing and dancing around Framlingham Pubs from 8pm onwards, particularly at The Castle, The Crown, The Railway and The Station.

Saturday 3rd Sep there will be three tours around our favourite Suffolk dancing venues - Snape - Orford - Woodbridge

Snape Tour -Saddleworth, Utrecht, Devil’s Dyke and Chester City MM
9:45 - Framlingham Market Hill
11:00 - The Plough & Sail: Snape Maltings
12:30 - The Dolphin: Thorpness
Orford Tour – Colchester, Dolphin and Hartley MM
10:15 – Orford Square
10:45 – The Jolly Sailor
12:00 – Rendlesham Church Fete
12:30 – The Green Man: Tunstall
Woodbridge Tour - Rutland, Hageneth, Thaxted, Cambridge, Green Oak, Jockey, Greensleeves, Letchworth and Whitchurch  MM
10:15 - Woodbridge Riverside
11:15 - The Cherry Tree: Wodbridge
12:30pm - The Crown: Great Glemham

The highlight of the afternoon will be a show by all dancers on Aldeburgh Sea Front between 3pm and 4-15 pm.

Sunday 4th Sep, a celebratory service will be held at St Michael's Church in Framlingham 9:30am

This will be followed by a show by all dancers on Framlingham Market Hill at 11:45am
